Exercise and nutrition exist together – they work with each other to achieve the fitness and health goals we set for ourselves. You cannot have one without the other. We will give you fitness programs to strengthen your lungs and your heart, but if you have a poor diet full of processed foods, you will likely have issues with high cholesterol and increased blood pressure. It is true that exercise will strengthen the arteries and improve blood pressure, but if your diet is poor you will not have the energy to perform the exercise required to achieve the health benefits. It is the same the other way – you may eat very healthy – but you lose muscle mass as you age and bone density decreases. Calcium is good for the bones, but it’s exercise combined with the nutrition that will get you where you need to go.
We have a designated specialist with FLARE fitness that focuses solely on your dietary needs. When it comes to food, there are many conflicting articles that leave most people confused and frustrated with what is “right” and what is “wrong”. Our specialist will not only clear away all the confusion, they will also teach you proper shopping plans and food prepping techniques to stay focused. Our nutrition coach will come to your house – you will go over a detailed history of your past injuries, time constraints, food allergies, personal goals, past and current concerns with nutrition and supplements. They will help you with the food you currently have in your house, go to the grocery store with you to show you tips and tricks when shopping, and leave you with a meal plan. Updates will be requested weekly and the in-person meetings will help you stay accountable and motivated to live a healthier, happier life!
